Where Training Becomes a Game

Monzology leads all the creative, design, visuals and ideation behind SeGateam’s gamified learning. In association with SeGa Group, we built two complete game worlds — a sci‑fi rescue mission and a fantasy strengths saga — and brought them to life in live workshops, including a strengths simulation delivered for the teams at ASC. For a client whose whole philosophy is play, we didn’t design a course; we designed a game people race to finish.

The gamification playbook

Gamification isn’t points bolted onto a slideshow. It’s designing the whole experience like a game — a goal worth chasing, a role to inhabit, and feedback at every step. This is the toolkit we deploy across every SeGa world:

Story & roleA mission with stakes; the learner plays a hero, not a student.
Teams & crewsSquads with colours and names — belonging plus friendly rivalry.
A map to followThe curriculum as a visible journey you can track and finish.
An economyPoints, currency and territory to earn, spend and defend.
Cards & powersSkills and strengths turned into playable cards you wield.
Badges & ranksMastery made visible — roles to earn and show off.
Live playReal tables, floor boards and facilitation — learning in motion.
Emotional payoffA moment that reminds players why the craft matters.
Act I — Planet SeGaSci‑fi rescue mission

Instead of “teaching the framework,” we wrapped SeGa’s method (the FIRST‑ADLX model) inside a story with real stakes: a distant planet, a crew, a countdown. The learner isn’t a student — they’re a Consultant deployed to save the day.

Don’t teach the framework. Send them on a mission to master it.

A map to follow, crews to join

The curriculum became a star chart — every stop a skill to unlock, one route to the Galactic Center. And because learning at SeGa is team‑based, every player joins a crew with its own ship: five colourways that turn “which group are you in?” into identity and rivalry.

Rewards & mastery

Players earn ranked badges — Helper, Team Player, Achiever and the Smart / Bright / Witty Consultant tiers — while a star‑rated scorecard tracks the craft itself: the 15 facilitation principles at the heart of SeGa’s framework.

Act II — Ages of PowersFantasy strengths saga

A second world, a different genre. Ages of Powers is a fantasy strategy game that turns Gallup’s CliftonStrengths into a saga: players discover their signature strengths and wield them as powers across a hand‑drawn realm of Giants, Humans, Flying Monkeys and the FISH people.

Cards, powers & an economy

Strengths become collectible cards — Command, Analytical, Responsibility, Activator, Achiever — each a gem to play. Land cards act as currency and territory, giving the game a real economy to earn, trade and defend.

Played live, with real crews

This world wasn’t a mock‑up — it ran. Delivered as the “Strengths‑Based Team Effectiveness Simulation,” teams at ASC gathered around a printed wall‑map, claimed the character cards matching their Gallup strengths, and battled across the realm in a live workshop.
